PVC TENT ENDING

What is PVC Tent

Larger frame tents and many trailer tents will be made from cotton canvas but will have a heavy Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) coating on the roof to make them strong and waterproof.

Benefits of PVC Tent

It is Strong, Yet Light And Easy to Store
One of the first benefits that you’ll love is that it is completely abrasion resistant, light, and has mechanical strength that is quite important for a tent. Additionally, you’ll be able to easily store and carry it, hence, if you choose to change your camping location, you won’t have any problems with carrying it around.

A Wide Range of Designs and Styles
PVC is extremely versatile, which means that you’ll have the option of choosing from various designs and styles. This means that you’ll be able to find almost all designs that you imagine. Additionally, some companies also offer customization, so, you can design your own tent.

Extremely Durable And Strong
This material is resistant to various things including corrosion, abrasion, chemical damages, shock, and influences from the weather. Hence, by choosing a tent made from PVC, you can ensure that it lasts for a long time. And, if you ever find yourself in a windy situation, you won’t have to worry about the fabric tearing.

It is Cheaper in The Long Run
Of course, PVC does not come with a cheap price, however, when you think about how long it will last, it actually becomes a cheaper option! Just think about it, if you got a traditional tent, it would likely tear after strong winds or rain, and naturally, you would need to repair it or buy a new one. With a PVC tent, you do not have to worry about any wear and tear.

It is Quite Safe – Even For Children
One of the best benefits is that it is completely non-toxic, safe, and environmentally friendly. There have been various studies about this material and all of them concluded that it is a healthy and safe product. Also, if you are camping with your children, you won’t need to worry about health hazards.

It is Resistant to Fire
As mentioned above, this fabric is fire-resistant. Now, you should know what makes them resistant to fire – naturally, the PVC fabric can be exposed to fire, but, it can also extinguish itself, which means that you need to remove the source of fire if it comes in contact with the material.

It is Also Resistant to Chemicals And Oils
This is a material that is extremely difficult to dissolve in chemicals or oil. So, you won’t need to worry about it being damaged or destroyed by these substances. If you, for example, own a pickup truck, you can store it in the back without worrying that it can be damaged.

It Can Be Recycled
If you are someone who is environmentally conscious, you will be happy to know that this material is completely recyclable. This means that your tent can be used for manufacturing other things such as pipes, floors, roofs, and profiles for manufacturing windows. If possible, it can be used for manufacturing new tents as well.

It Boosts Economy Worldwide
In recent years, there has been an increased demand and use of PVC tents and materials. Hence, manufacturing items made from PVC – especially camping tents – countries can improve their economy. And, if you take a look, you can see that sales have increased in the last few years.

It Protects You From The Sunday
Yes, the Sun provides us with the much needed Vitamin D, however, getting too much of it can be dangerous. But, a PVC tent can protect you from the sunlight, even during the hottest summer days. It will also make you feel cool during summer months, and warm during winter.

What Are the Different Types of Tents Available for Camping
6 Square Meters Inflatable Tent
Oxford Cloth Inflatable Tent
Huayu Quick Open Tent
Outdoor Mobile Villa, Two Bedroom Multifunctional Tent

There are several types of tents available for camping, each designed for specific purposes and camping conditions. Here are some of the most common types:

Dome Tents
Dome tents are one of the most popular choices for general camping. They are characterized by their simple, freestanding design, which typically consists of two or more flexible poles that cross over the top to create a dome-like structure. Dome tents are easy to set up and provide good stability in windy conditions.

Cabin Tents
Cabin tents are larger and more spacious than dome tents. They are often designed with straight walls, which maximize the interior space. These tents are suitable for family camping and often include multiple rooms or dividers for added privacy.

Tunnel Tents
Tunnel tents are elongated and designed to be lightweight and easy to pack. They use flexible poles to create a series of connected tunnels. These tents are good for backpacking and camping in areas where you need to carry your gear over long distances.

Geodesic Tents
Geodesic tents have a more complex pole structure that creates a self-supporting and sturdy design. They are excellent for withstanding harsh weather conditions, such as heavy snow or strong winds. They are favored by mountaineers and extreme weather campers.

Pop-Up Tents
Pop-up tents are incredibly easy to set up and take down. They use a spring-loaded frame that "pops" into shape when you release it. These tents are convenient for quick camping trips and festivals.

Tarp and Hammock Tents
These are minimalistic setups consisting of a tarp for rain and sun protection and a hammock for sleeping. They are lightweight and suitable for backpacking, especially in areas with trees for hanging the hammock.

4-Season Tents
Designed for year-round camping, 4-season tents are built to handle extreme weather conditions, including heavy snow and strong winds. They often have reinforced frames and thicker materials for insulation.

Ultralight Tents
Ultralight tents are designed for backpackers who prioritize weight savings. They use lightweight materials and minimalist designs to reduce pack weight but may sacrifice some durability and comfort.

Inflatable Tents
Inflatable tents use air-filled beams instead of traditional poles for support. They are easy to set up and take down, making them suitable for car camping or short trips.

Roof-Top Tents
These tents mount on top of a vehicle, such as an SUV or a roof rack, providing an elevated sleeping platform. They are convenient for off-road adventures and offer a comfortable and safe sleeping area.

Canvas Tents
Canvas tents are durable and heavy-duty options often used in more permanent camping setups. They are known for their excellent breathability and ability to regulate temperature.

Backpacking Tents
These tents are designed with weight and packability in mind. They are compact, lightweight, and easy to carry, making them ideal for backpackers and hikers.

How to Care for and Clean Your Pvc Marquee Tent

Before you erect your marquee tent
Decide on a suitable and level site for the marquee tent.
The area must have some form of wind protection, e.g. trees.
Take note of any water pipes, electrical cables and sewerage pipes.
Do not erect the marquee tent on loose or sandy soil.
The area that the tent pegs will take-up is about 4 to 5 meters more than the size of the tent.

Safety and things to avoid
Never let members of the public near a marquee before it is completely erected.
Never pitch or dismantle a marquee tent in windy conditions.
All ropes should be checked, prior to the erection of the marquee tent.
Over-tensioning causes the marquee tent to tear and poles to bend.
Under-tensioning can cause wind damage.
Un-even tensioning can cause the marquee to collapse.
Structures should not be tampered with when erected. This includes, but is not limited to removing of pegs, anchor points or exits.
Marquee tents are temporary structures. As such, there are foreseeable weather conditions such as high winds and storms where it is advisable not to permit members of the public into the marquee tent.
Removal of walls can cause wind to enter the marquee tent.
Although the material is fire retardant, the marquee tent is not fireproof.
Avoid any sharp objects.

Storage of your marquee tent
Incase the marquee tent must be stored away, ensure that the marquee tent is not wet or damp.
The storage location must not be vulnerable to mould, mildew, insects, rats and other threats.
Best is to store the marquee tent away in cool dry place.

Cleaning your marquee tent
Decide where to clean your marquee tent: Avoid rough surfaces like paving or concrete and assure that the area is free from rocks or any sharp and pointed objects. Frame marquee tents can be washed while erected by lowering the legs, as this allows easy access to the roof from a normal ground level.
Use the correct cleaning products and equipment: Use a soft cloth, mop or plastic broom. Use warm water with a mild soap like dishwashing liquid (diluted). Avoid detergents like washing powders, household cleaners and solvents as it will damage and remove the plasticider of the material, making it brittle. Hose down your marquee tent with lots of water.

5 Materials Used in Tent Production

1. Nylon

Nylon is a man-made fabric that belongs to the polyamide group. Man-made canvases usually give us a lot of disadvantages, but in some cases, they can be the best solution. Nylon is the first man-made fabric and is known for its high physical resistance. It is easy to keep clean, as it does not wrinkle, and it dries very quickly. When it comes to tents, it is mainly used in lightweight, foldable touring models, as it can be comfortably carried on long backpacking trips.

2. Polyester

Polyester, like nylon, is a man-made fabric that has most of the parameters of nylon - but it is quite heavy. The main advantages of polyester are higher physical resistance and lower water retention, making it perfect for rainy nights in the wild. Many touring tents have walls and roofs made of polyester, while the floor is made of nylon to make the tent both practical and as light as possible. On the other hand, large tents and tent halls are rarely made of these materials, as both fabrics are not very breathable and may not provide enough ventilation.

3. Cotton

Cotton canvas is an all-natural material used in tent production. Cotton feels great to the touch, is extremely breathable, and absorbs water well. On windy days, they are not as noisy as artificial fabrics. In addition, it has better UV resistance than the previously mentioned materials, which greatly extends its lifespan.

4. PVC

PVC is a man-made fabric widely used in tent production. Usually it is used as a covering for more flexible materials to increase water resistance and wind resistance. Most tarps are made of PVC.

5. Polycotton

Polycotton is a modern fabric that combines the advantages of cotton and polyester. It is highly water-resistant, blocks wind well and strikes a perfect balance between weight and usability. This material is one of the most functional materials used in tent production today. If treated properly, it can serve its owner for many years. However, its main disadvantage is the price - this is why this fabric is mainly used in the highest quality tents and tent halls.

Tent Process to Create High-Quality Tents
1

Material preparation

The tent fabric is made of high-density nylon, which is waterproof, sun-proof, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, and can provide effective protection and comfortable use experience.
The bracket material is made of lightweight aluminum or high-strength steel to provide stable structural support and ensure the durability of the tent.

2

Structural design

The tent structure should take into account stability, ventilation and comfort, and design a suitable structural form according to different usage environments and needs.
The tent structure should be easy to assemble and disassemble, and ensure safety and stability under extreme weather conditions.

3

Suture process

The tent should be sewn with double thread sewing technology, and double thread cross stitching can effectively enhance the sewing strength and durability.
The tent should be tightly sewn and smooth to avoid dotted lines or loose threads.

4

Quality control

During the tent production process, it is necessary to continuously check and control the quality of each link to ensure that every detail meets the requirements and reaches high-quality production standards.
After the production is completed, a comprehensive quality inspection is required, including inspection items such as waterproofness, load-bearing capacity, and stability.

How to Store a Tent

Dry Your Tent

If you do nothing else, make sure that your tent is dry before you store it. A tent that is put away damp will develop mildew, which will give your tent a funky odor. The moisture can also potentially damage the polyurethane waterproof coatings beyond repair. If you've ever had a tent that became flaky, tacky or smelly, that's likely because it was not dry before you stored it.

To keep this from happening, dry your tent out by setting it up indoors or in a shaded outdoor spot. If you don't have enough space to pitch it, drape it or hang it until dry.

Keep it clean: If you returned home from your outing with a dirty tent, taking the time to clean it can help improve longevity, especially if it was exposed to sand, fine dust, bird droppings and tree sap.

Use cold water and mild, non-detergent soap to spot clean dirty fabric. To get sap off, let the sap dry and then try gently spot cleaning with mineral oil or other alcohol-based products, like hand sanitizer or wet wipes. Be sure to rinse well with water afterward.

Store Your Tent Loosely in a Cool, Dry Place

Keep it loose: Though nicely compact for backpacking, the stuff sack that came with your tent is a poor choice for long-term storage. You want tent fabrics to relax and breathe. An old pillowcase or similarly sized mesh bag will work well. You can neatly fold your tent up and place it in the bag or simply stuff it in.

Reduce tension: For tent poles, you can extend the life of the shockcord by storing the poles partially assembled to take tension off the cord. But not everyone has space to do this, so another option is to break the poles down by starting in the middle and working toward the ends. Collapsing poles down like this evenly distributes tension along the cord.

Keep it cool: When looking for a place to keep your tent, try to find a dry, cool spot in your home. This means avoid storing it in damp or hot locations like a basement, attic or car trunk. A gear closet or garage are both good options.
